Like a chocolate tea-pot?

All new office refurb' with conference rooms pre-equipped with HDMI leads, power cables, etc.

However I think the rationale behind this power lead has gone a bit adrift Rolling Eyes

It's heath and safety; might be dangerous if they made it long enough for you to plug it in to something. Laughing

Most likely that has been made so someone can use a rack kettle lead which a male on and a female on the other end.

I have something similar for my laptop, I have a 2 gang socket on a rack cable and short one like that so I can use a normal socket if needed so it's not as stupid as it looks. Thumbs Up

It is stupid as it is in conference rooms coming out of a 'comms hub', best way of describing it, but doesn't reach over the 'lip' so good for Censored all......

gotta be UK bit of a universal setup ? everywhere has the IEC power lead but this converts IEC to local ... made several versions when I worked for HP and got to traipse around Europe.
