Kids on holiday!
Right, a rant, I am looking after three miscreants this holidays and another two on a sleep over! How I hate that word.
I like to think I am organised, but the days are continually running from breakfast, to snack, to lunch, to snack to dinner to bedtime snack.
This morning, they all get up at differing times, one wants Nutella on toast, another a full English, one a liquid diet and the other two a variety of cornflakes with Danish.
Then it just goes from bad to worse. It's impossible to find something they will all eat.
Yesterday it kicked off at lunch. One didn't like Baxters Chicken Broth, wanted home made, I tend to think they were just full after a round of ham toasties.
In the evening, one announced they were turning veggie and knocked back the roast chicken.
I am fast loosing the will to live. I've already been accused of psychologically bullying them by even suggesting a set menu and I think one has a tattoo of the childline phone number on their arm.
Mary Berry would have problems with this lot!

I don't disagree, but SWMBO molly coddled them when they were young, but now she's out to work and I am doing my house husband bit, I am reaping the consequences. The boys, there a bit of latitude with, but the girls, forget it.

I've got three boys, 16, 13, 6, and it seems to be a constant round of feeding them. They are all as thin as bean poles, but never stop eating! I have to be at work all the time to pay for the food.
Well, that's my excuse anyway!! Richard

. . . and if they don't eat it they can watch me finish it off!A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

I once had to look after a pre-school Narpy junior and was given feeding instructions from the missus.
On the first morning I did exactly as instructed but my daughter told me, "Dad he won't eat that, it's in the wrong bowl".
The wrong feckin bowl!!!
He had to have it surved up in the Tweenies bowl with the Noo Noo spoon otherwise he wouldn't touch it.
I might remind him of this, he's 21 this year. Mods:

I always brought my two up on the same menu choices my mother gave me...
"Eat it or do without - your choice"
They soon learnt as did their friends - otherwise you may as well open a restaurant.I see no ships........

your right.
I am presently making Lunch.
Pizza for two, sorry one - the other one tells me he doesn't like the chicken they use on it, so wants ham and vintage cheddar toasties, but only with Heinz Tomato Sauce, plus wants white grapes for sweet. Only told me just now when the pizza is served.
Soup and toasties for another one and the final two haven't surfaced from bed after having breakfast in bed. Damn sure I am not taking a lunch tray to them?
As for favourite bowls etc. They have spoons and cups with their names on. God help me if I mix them up. You'd think I'd poisoned them. They also have a tendency to check sell by dates and won't eat anything that's within a day or two of expiry. They are also food snobs, won't eat anything that isn't a regular brand or shop brand.
Yes, they are all as thin as rakes. The 16 yo boy is over 6'. The 13 yo girl is presently 5' 10" and all are growing fast.
I could do with going out to the shops, but won't take the risk of leaving them all together in case WW3 breaks out.

Rule 1: This is not a restaurant
Rule 2: There are only two menu choices - eat it or don't eat it.
Rule 3: No snacks between meals
Rule 4: There will be no snacks period
All clear

The other two have arisen now. Well wafting about in their onesies. They want Heinz low sugar baked beans on seasame toast with low fat fried sausage and poached brown eggs, followed by Mackies Ice cream. I kid you not!
Note - I did try them out on Lidl beans and also Branston beans a while back. They just looked at them with some disdain and wouldn't try them. I got a, "you don't care about me" comment.
It's either slit my wrists or better start thinking of Dinner after that.

My lad used to be a nightmare - only thing he would eat was Chicken Dinosaurs (used to have to take them on holiday with us)
Then went through a phase of eating anything, literally any old rubbish, now Mr Healthy, only eats Rice, Chicken, Steak and Veg that he mostly cooks himself
Must admit - I admire your kid that's on a liquid only diet - good effort at that age - what's the preferred tipple? - mines Stella
Like the Tommy Cooper joke - I've been on a Whisky only diet - I've lost 10 days already

also - when they start paying for it, then they get to choose, otherwise tough
My mom said it was their house, not a hotel. If I didnt like the house rules I could move out. Simple really.
