What an idiot!

Got off a plane at Gatwick this evening and left my iPad Pro and jacket in a bag I left on the seat. Easyjet say they have no lost luggage at Gatwick so have to phone a number at 10am tomorrow. I was last off the plane so will be interesting if it's been retrieved or not but still my fault. Worst than that - there was a bottle of brandy in the bag as well🙁

Do you have find my iPhone enabled on it?

You can lock it with a screen message or get its location if it picks up signal or internet connection?

IPad pros have the "find my" as standard
If you have enabled the pass code or fingerprint l.d. The unit will I believe will allow9 attempts then shut down...the only way back is an Apple shop where you have to produce hard copy proof of purchase.

yes I had completely cleared customs and exited the air side part of Gatwick. I also had it in flight mode which I believe puts a spanner in the works re "find my iPad" etc. I'm putting great faith in the fact I was last off the aircraft so the crew must have seen it. He said hopefully!
Out of interest who else has left something " interesting " on an aircraft or public transport? The mind boggles.....

If the flight crew found it then you're sorted, if the cleaners found it then it could be another story, my cousin used to clean planes back in the day...he had loads of nice swag

Last year We (the family) flew to Portugal, We parked in a transfer carpark at EMA, got on the bus and headed to the terminal, We got off the buss, walked for a few minutes and I realised I had left all of out passports and EHIC's on the bus Big Cry

Luckily I ran to the where the bus picks up from and found the same bus just about to reload and I got them back.. that would have made an awkward conversation at security with my misses..

Apparently it takes 3 days for my duty free to reach customs as they separate that. The bag with the iPad etc takes two days to reach wherever it is sent to. Of course I am naive and thought as it was only 15 minutes since I left the plane they could have phoned and spoke to someone there but that's far too complicated. I've been told to phone back Friday ( Easter Friday). Did similar at Heathrow and had to wait an hour but got my bag back intact. I seem to be a serial bag loser Rolling with laughter

Flying to Spain with Monarch 2 years ago I found a Kindle in the seat back pocket (obviously from previous flight) about 1 minute before pushing back - stewardess threw it out of the door to ground crew who dropped it - I'm sure you will get your stuff back as the crew do check (but not that thoroughly in Monarch's case (and this was the first flight that day of that aircraft)

Update on lost iPad.
Having spent the past week phoning Easyjets lost property dept in Bishops Sortford they said they have no trace of the bag with the iPad and my jacket in. Interesting, all duty free alcohol is seized customs and, sure enough, I went to customs at Gatwick today and got my bottle of brandy back. They were very helpful and somewhat intrigued as to why the brandy was handed in but the bag and contents have disappeared. There seems nobody to contact now as I keep being pushed around in circles.
Pretty expensive senior moment Big Cry

try going onto easyjet's facebook page and explaining the situation. It may get a better response from easyjet.

Make a point of the fact that the bag with the iPad was definitely discovered as it had the brand bag in so someone, be it Easyjet staff or cleaners, has definitely stolen it.

Post it everywhere, easyJet customer services Facebook page, twitter etc.,

A friend was flying via Manchester airport and his wife put a brand new iPad in tray for x-ray machine then walked through metal detector which beeped

She was pulled aside to be searched and forgot tray - she's in her late 70s and has health problems

They realised when they got home and used one of the directory enquiry numbers who said we can transfer you so they said ok - that call cost them £85 Shocked

Lost property told them it hadn't been handed in and the find my iPad feature never worked so they never got it back

Can't believe how dishonest people are - it was either taken by another passenger or security personnel

Sorry to read your experience too - incredible someone would hand in bottle and take rest - hope they investigate and find the Censored
