DDPai M6+ Dashcam - permanent live feed & Power Magic Pro |
|
Hi, bought a DDPai which I'd like to hook up to a permanent live fuse to record when parking too. Will this drain the battery if left for a bit or should I fit a Power Magic Pro to protect the battery from dis-charging?

You can set the camera to switch off after selected time through the App.

Thanks, have you got yours on a permanent live, have you had it drain your battery at all? Just wondering if I need the power thingy...? Cheers Discovery 4 - 3.0 - 2015

Thanks, useful info on the wiring which I'm fairly comfortable with. It's whether anyone has had any power drain issues I'm really interested in, or how long a camera will comfortably run on the car battery without draining it? Cheers Discovery 4 - 3.0 - 2015

Got mine connected to a cheaper version of the Power Magic that came with the camera package. Seems to work well. I also have a PM which I will use if I start to get battery problems.

Interesting, mine didn't come with a power device, what type is yours..? Might see if I can get one. I've not seen a bad comment about them, hence I bought one! Cheers Discovery 4 - 3.0 - 2015

Interesting, didn't know they were an option. Just looked at them on Amazon & two people report that the battery saver doesn't work properly... Can you set the voltage it stops taking power I wonder...?
I wonder if they had the camera set to permanently record when parking, I'd be happy to have it on for a few hours then turn off... Discovery 4 - 3.0 - 2015

Not adjustable like the PM but I've never had much faith in the PM's switches. I just use the app to define parking watch times.

I agree, I've not got faith in the - just like I've had fancy garage battery testers tell me my car battery is fine in the past, but had the battery fail as soon as it's dropped a few below. Out of interest, how many hours does yours record for on park mode? (I forget the options). Cheers Discovery 4 - 3.0 - 2015
