Discovery 3 and 4 - 3rd row seats compatibility |
|
G'day everyone, from Tasmania. I've been looking at adding a 3rd row to my Disco 3. Online, I've found a cheap set of brand new tan leather Discovery 4 seats which look very similar to Disco 3 but I can't find anywhere that says the two are interchangeable. There aren't any Disco 3 seats in the right colour online in Aus that I can find, and the only one in a wrecker was 3 times the cost.
Does anyone know if Disco 4 seats 6 and 7 will fit in my Disco 3?
Cheers!

Ah G-Day mate,
I don't know if D4 seats will fit in your D3, logic says they will but logic always flys south at the best of times,
But if it was me, I'd look on uk EBAY for the seats in your colour and get them shipped down to you and pay the extra cost to get it right, you also wanna look at the seat belt situ as I know that your gonna need to fit them too for safety and legal reasons,
I've also heard that the 3rd row seats was only fitted to cars with air suspension. Aparantlty the springs are too strong and your 3rd row mates might end up with hard heads or broken arses, but I guess that's down to the drivers style and the roads your on,
Mate, listen, if you find a uk breaker that won't ship to you in oz but will the uk, then I can help you out and resend them down to you, as long as you pay the long legs travel money's.
Anyways, hope that helps yous out a bit mate,
No worries.
Paul

Thanks to you both. I'll try to source within Australia, but I appreciate the advice and the offer for onforwarding by UtilityGuy.
Mine is the 2005 HSE and has the air susp so I should be fine on that front - in fact I've been told that the original purchaser would have had to request not to have the 3rd row of seats as they were standard in HSE.
Cheers!
