D4 Facelift Bulb Upgrades - 1 or 2

Quick question, I've a 2014 Disco 4 facelift with Halogen Headlights, am I right in thinking I need a h7 bulb for dipped and one h7 for main as well in my headlights?
I've not had a chance to pull the units to have a look and I'll not get the chance till the weekend. Cheers.

Looking at these to upgrade:

with these as sides:

or

Any good?

I have these in the tailgate number plate light and they keep failing??

Just wondering if the constant shutting of the tailgate is causing this.

I'm sure the facelift units are a single headlamp bulb and for halogens it isn't a H7. It's a slightly obscure bulb, can't recall right now what it is. The facelift halogens are unusual in that they have a shutter like xenon's that controls dip/main beam functionality, hence only one bulb.

Just checked, handbook does say single H7 halogen bulb but I'm sure that it isn't. I remember a post on here a while back that identified that the handbook was incorrect in stating that it is a H7 bulb.

Found it. The halogen bulb is a HIR2 I believe.

Got the same in number plate light with no issues. The contact wires in these bulbs are a bit close to the centre, have you tried spreading them out a bit? Or tied in another bulb position?

Yep, as per DSL.
Have a wee play with the wires, I had to adjust a few

Thanks for the notes guys, so much conflicting information from LR about something that should be so simple. I'll pull them this weekend, see what's inside Smile

Hi, indeed they are HIR2 bulbs, just the one per side. Looking around options are somewhat limited with regards to halogen upgrades which is disappointing. Any other reliable options available HID or Xenon upgrades?
Also looks like the LR recommended side lights are different as well, not impressed with such basic errors in the LR manual for such an expensive car!
