Coming back to my TDV6 Auto MY08.
It is behaving completely irrational.
Have changed brakeswitch and brake bulbs before all this happened.
In the beginning of this year I got limp mode 3 - 4 times in a row and code P2290. Had been driving without problems until today. Got limpmode when driving to the office 7 times in a row. P0087. Stopped started again reset with my IID. Got to the office garage. Was away 4 hours. Started and had a long drive to the countryside 2 x 100 kms. Little driving in the town. No limpmode. No fault codes.
LPFP or HPFP fault. Seems strange as it is so irrational.
If it is an electrical fault, a worn cable or earth fault, how is it possible to measure when it is not there all the time?
Someone suggested a bearing fault in the HPFP, but can it show in this way?

Change the fuel filter. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Changed the fuel filter as you suggested.
Still got a P2290.
Measured the system:
LPFP current at fuse. 4,3 A steady
Pressure at valve. 4,7 psi. steady needle going down with higher revs
from IID
fuel pressure at idle 3500 psi going up when pushing throttle
fuel rail temp 70 degrees
Are these values normal?

Had similar problems. LPFP readings look ok. after the fuel filter i've changed the fuel pressure sensor (located on the left manifold - passenger site). it worked for a bit and then boom again. last resort i did is changed the HPFP. so as of now things are going well.
had live measurements as well looking ok but the bloody fault was comping out. a friend told me that the F sign on the dashboard is from the HPFP and as said before LPFP readings are looking ok. of course you can have the car read into an official LR and give you a report. my HPFP - VDO got it on line at 500GBP plus VAT.
hope it helps

Yes I have read.
When changing the filter I did open it. No signs of metal in it.

Have a strange feeling that something is peculiar with the brakesystem, maybe the parking brake.
Had the EPB module changed.
Had brake smell when getting P2290 and limpmode.
Could something wrong with the brakes efffect the bus system and give the fault code?
Did some exercise with the parking brake after the latest limpmode. Since the no fault code, but just waiting for the next time.
Could I trust my beloved car. No way!
