thks for the great info
in the back of my mind i think ur spot on regarding having the srs ecu reset
as i've got time on my hands i being abit ocd i'm going through it stage by stage
there's no crash data in th fault codes
this week i intend to unplug the airbags one by one to establish what the circuits relate to
which i hope then once intentified will help others
as if someone has a fault , can plug in the iid and check the ohm live data readings , to pin down which circuit is failing
i expect at the end of the day i may have to get the crash data removed, the iid will reset to service condition
really appreciate the help with this, once after i've unplugged them all and identified the airbags i don't get any further will then remove the ecu
just going on by what i can see in the fault codes , alas no crash data yet
is a massive learning curve for me, but hopefully at the end of the day will help others as i finally write out the final solution of this
enjoy finding out how things work
always thought that you've got to find out how things work before u can fix them
will indeed report back as i go through this process and refuse to be beaten , may take some time though

hi pete
that would be great if u could list urs please , so i can then compare what sound airbag readings are plse
it's in the untested live value area
Yeah I was trying to do that for you, or at least see if I have a 10 ohm one, but couldn't find it.
Won't be able to look again, until Friday at the earliest.

thks pete , appreciate it
didn't fancy doing anymore on the airbag system today
so instead replaced the air tank and reservoir valve

I maybe miles out but I was just thinking about your speaker and then realised that my ffrr has an airbag in the door behind the door card, I've never had the pleasure of diving into a D3/4 door yet but has it not got them?.
Rather than watching the live data can't you keep refreshing the fault code list on the IID whilst you unplug each airbag until they're all unplugged that way you will get your list of which one is which and also see which one doesn't bring up a new fault, it should also rule in or out you clock spring too

hi pete k
thks, yes have indeed been wrapped up on this
first disconnected the battery and waited 20 x mins
i then unplugged the seat airbag first as i felt that was the easiest to go for, to indentify which was giving me the 10 ohm reading
reconnected battery and started the engine , suppose i could have just put the ign on, but thought it would be better to start the engine
lucky enough through the live data changing that was the one, new seat airbag , reset the srs ecu to service condition and light went out
so didn't need to send the ecu away for repair as there were no ecu error codes
don't understand though why the ecu didn't need the crash data removing , i'm only assuming the iid has the capability to reset it
but am not knowledgeable enough to know that , main thing is after all this the light went out
am well chuffed and know i couldn't have done it without everyone's help and support
for that i'm extremely grateful

hi mate
many thks, have learnt a lot that's for sure,
my heart was in my mouth after resetting the ecu, as the light goes out for a few seconds then it useto come straight back in, but this time stayed off
was over the moon and spent today getting all the panels back

classic fan
many thks,
has indeed been a long winded fix, but that's my fault due to in experience
but alas learnt a lot
this was the last fault readings i got
light ones have now gone, that was only due to me having the lights disconnected , other one is just the air con low
