I am no expert, but I just installed 2016 Xenons on my 2011.
I went to see beanie and he enabled the Xenons in the CCF with his iid tool, and we also noticed a DRL setting. He pressed the button to say they were fitted and they then worked (bright as DRL, dimmer as side light and when headlights on).
Simple as that.

I should have asked when I took it for a service last week. I've just read someone's thread that details a way to switch them on/off by flicking the lights switch and fog light in a certain pattern so may give that a go and see if it works.
My car didn't need to have the CCF altered when I installed the xenons, they just worked straight away
Activation is dependant on the previous lamps , if they're halogen, they'll need activating , Phil found that out Altox GSM FBH controller thread

I have also upgraded my D4 halogens to the D4 facelift xenons and wonder if anyone could point me in the right direction of a guide as to what additional wiring is required to get the L.E.D's working as DRL's?
No additional wiring is needed - you have to get a car electrician to plug in a laptop and change the settings - it takes 5 minutes
