Fault Code U0401 / anyone replaced main ECU ? |
|
At the dealer this morning following this: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic44818.html
And the ongoing saga of this: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic40615-15.html
Two codes of note were present:
P0401-21 which was the old code from the EGR's (the IDS log confirmed it was old and never cleared from the vehicle log).
And now this...U0401 which I believe is Invalid Data Received From ECM/PCM
The dealer thinks I need a whole new ECU control unit (Subject to LR Engineering in Brussels looking at the IDS output today).
Anyone had this? Had the main ECU box and gubbings replaced? The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

I'll take the overwhelming flood of responses as no, then... The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Not sure what the code could mean.
Under warranty so up to LR to fix. New ECU is easy to replace I believe but needs to be paired to the vehicle by LR. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
