They might not be perfect but they have the one thing that we don't and won't have for some considerable time ...and that is unity .....unity in purpose ....and unity is their strength. Every shred of this country is split ...the people... the politicians.... business.

Unity. What a great argument against democracy that is.
It's much easier for a non-democratic bureaucracy to portray unity as they have no need to represent a diversity of views.
Ultimately, and probably not that far into the future, it will be its undoing though.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Brexiteers trying to divert attention away from our own precarious cliffside footing?
Merely observing that, despite the apparent Remainers loathing of their own country, we are no better, nor worse, in our approach than the EU. They're always keen to point out UK difficulties whereas seem to believe the EU is the epitome of perfection.

Tell me what negotiations the EU have entered into? So far they'very just come along with a list of self serving demands. Some, like ECJ jurisdiction in an independent soverereign state, a non starter. When asked, Barnier could not give a single such example anywhere else.
Barnier is just the message boy, wait until 26 nations start bitching with each other as the negotiation details develop. He'll be a rabbit in the headlights.

Our net contribution annually to the EU is equivalent to just over 2% of all German public spending.
I can't see the German public being enthralled with having to part with many billions more than they do already.
Europe will cope. As for Germany, I wish we were as badly disadvantaged by Europe as Germany has been. I wonder what they've done that was so wrong as to give them free education through university, a diversified economy, great healthcare, good infrastructure and a country that still owns itself?New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

DD is pro-Brexit and is probably quite happy if we leave with no deal at all. Any outcome of the negotiations resulting in Brexit is going to be good so far as he is concerned.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

You mean with the relatively small amount of money they let us have back from the money we gave them in the first place?
