Need some Ideas on this one.

Got a funny one here, manual D3 2005, the guy tried to start it in gear, he blew the 400 amp fuse on the battery lead, so it would not start, I changed the fuse and the car started but running really rough with engine system fault and sometimes cuts out. We also had the fule cooler out to access the starter motor.

Also the voltage is up and down sometimes as low as 5.6v on my tool.

Anyway changed the alternator, new fuel filter, a bit better but still the same, good reading from MAff and intank pump, but these are the codes logged.

P251D-00 (2C) Power take off engine shutdown - circuit open
P2288-00 (6C) Injector control pressure too high
P0087-00 (28) Fuel rail/system pressure - too low
P0693-00 (6C) Fan 2 control circuit - low
P0091-00 (68) Fuel pressure regulator control - circuit low
P120E-00 (6C) Fuel pressure sensor circuit A - excessive variation

I am thinking it might have damaged the main ecu with the fuse blowing or Hpfp problem, or even a canbus error. Any ideas from my collect heads on here.

Blowing the maxi fuse only cuts power to the starter/alternator, the fuse box is fed from the opposite side of the terminal, so unlikely to be an ECU issue

Canbus wouldn't allow it to start

Everything points towards the fuelling, HPFP or associated wiring

Has it been misfuelled?

One would assume the codes were cleared, and those were the ones that returned?

Hi Mikey no its not been misfuelled, it was running ok until it blew the fuse, its definitely something on the fuel side, as when run it like if the MAFF was u/s as you get the engine knocking like it was misfuelled, I am leaning towards the HPFP myself, but very strange that it was ok before the 400 amp fuse blew.

It also developed a diesel leak at the rear drivers side injector once I got it started again but I have sorted that one out, but again it did not leak before the fuse blow Shocked

I have had the fuel cooler off but got plenty of fuel on bleeding it and also intank pump pressure is good..

Have you got a second hand HPFP kicking about ?.

I have Thumbs Up It was taken off mine when body was lifted to replace with one I bought from D Mikey. Unfortunatley it made no difference when fitted so there is nothing wrong with old one. When do you want it Mick ?

I expect that would give cranking issues, not running issues Thumbs Up

Hey Flack

How did it finally end!?
Did you sort the issue out!?
Have got similar signs and faults but only

Power take off engine shut down /circuit open fault keeps coming

Running very rough for few minutes then goes off

Changed the Hpfp but still same

Only just seen this, yes I did find out what the problem was, when it blew the 400 amp fuse, the op started to test the fuses out on the car. He had a lot out and ended up putting a fuse back in a slot that did not have a fuse fitted in to that slot Shocked Censored so when it was put back in the right place it ran fine Rolling Eyes
