You can retro fit the factory kit very easy .. but you'll need stay away from the base model as it doesn't have the correct head unit ( radio )

You'll need the head unit with the keypad on it

Thanks Wiggs,
I assume to do so you'd need the module, probably a harness with mic? and the steering wheeel buttons from an auction site + programming. I imagine all that would end up costing more than a Parrot kit?

Would depend on how much you can buy the bits for .. but the advantage is you don't have something else cluttering the dash

1, you need a Bluetooth module update .. I offer exchange service
2, yes it does work with Siri , but you need to activate it from your phone
3, dials numbers , so pretty much all you need
4, correct ..as it should do
5, correct ..as it should do

How do i go about the exchange service Wiggs? Also, can you talk me through making it work with Siri? When i press the voice button on the steering wheel, i get the LR lady not siri.

As for dials numbers, thats great if you KNOW the number, lol!
I dont even know my own number! Hence why i use the phonebook.

Assuming you pair with 2121 then details on exchange are here

www.bluetoothexchange.co.uk

I just press the home button on iPhone for a couple of seconds

You can store names instead .. then you just say "phone dial mum " .. etc

My HSE has factory bluetooth, Buttons on the side of the wheel.
You need to lair the phone with the correct code, and it works.
Mine however has these features/disadvantages

1- phonebook isnt stored.
2- doesnt integrate with apples siri
3- the voice command from LR is pretty dire for bluetooth, very limited
4- if the radio system is OFF, and you get a call, it will turn on automatically for you
5- plays my ringtone through the speakers

Im sure mine is the older D3 basic kit (2007 MY) but for me it does what i need, shame i cant easily make calls using the LR system, but hey ho!

Get the updated one from "wiggs" much better than the original and a "parrot", I've had both........

I've not convinced the early ones were wired for them.

Yes they have the mic, but that was about it.

There were kits on auction sites will all the loom for £1000.
But I understand they aren't that good as standard!

Even the advise on this site was, if it's not wired go aftermarket.

So check out for connectors in the boot first.

Pete, I've no idea where you are coming from on this one. All D3s fitted with a MOST bus (all but basic models) can be fitted with the simple-to-install and very effective 'factory' bluetooth. This site is full of such examples. I've fitted loads of them - honest; and gawd knows how many Wiggs has done, together with all the other relevant site sponsors.

just to be clear ...if the car didn't leave the factory with Bluetooth ,then the car will not have any Bluetooth module connectors fitted.

You can however , retro fit the factory Bluetooth kit with the aid of a bit of most cable (fibre optic ) and some power .

The mic wiring and steering wheel wiring is already there

You can actually fit it were you want , personally I would fit it near the radio / screen as you only need a small bit of most cable that way

So we've ended up with a MY2008 HSE with factory Bluetooth. Thumbs Up
I haven't had too much time to play with it all yet.
It does the contacts on the stereo, but that does look a little basic compared to the 2005 Nissan Navara Aventura we've come from.
However I am pretty impressed with the sound quality of the logic 7 HK system over a Bluetooth dongle plugged into the aux-in.

However I've got the bug, and I'm already weighing up things like a GVIF or the RR screen mod for a reverse cam.
