Hello on a journey when coming up to a roundabout or going down a long hill when i go to get going again i have a loss of power and some smoke, if i stop and take the key out, count to ten then all is fine and dandy, this might happen 4 or 5 times on a 200 mile journey,jeff=bones1.

no codes yet, the hoses are the thick blue ones and seem ok, egr blanked, sticking actuator arm on turbo more likely, can it be oiled or freed off? no faults on instrument panel, i bough a gap 2 three years or so ago and not really got it to work, no ecus each time i fit it in the socket, i have asked a few times for some help from other gap2 owners, non so far feels like helping,im willing to drive to them for an instruction lesson. jeff

u can oil it, there's some instruction posts on here how to free it off
which iid did u get, is it the bluetooth one
if ur having problems it would be a good idea to contact pat at gap
http://www.gap-diagnostic.com
also got an iid and found it a brilliant bit of kit
did print out the manual for it, found it really useful
shame ur far away as i would have been more than happy to show u how the iid works

I think you mean a Gap IID tool.
Never heard it called a Gap 2 before. Mods:

FBH Remote Control

Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.

I think he means what model of Gap diagnostics tool is it?
EDIT NARPY BEAT ME TO IT
Normally theyre an IID tool, (which sounds like what you describe) however, theyre listed as
GAP IID TOOL (locked to a Vin number)
OR
GAP IID TOOL BT (bluetooth version, also locked to a vin number
Or GAP IID TOOL PRO (as bluetooth but unlocked for any vehicle)
Now it could be that your IId tool (if thats what you have) is either not registered (bought new by you)
Or its been locked to another vehicle, in which case you will need to buy a transfer licence and register it to your vin.
