brake caliper paint temp
Guys
I have cleaned and painted the brake calipers gloss black - now I dont know if this is me being parniod, and maybe I should have checked beforehand (yes I know) but the paint spec says its good up to 100 Deg C. A quick web search against Brake Caliper paint shows some (Halfords) at up to 80Deg C, but others up to 300 Deg C.
so - have I dropped a major b*****k here - in which case how the hell do I get this paint back off.

I think you should be ok with that paint.
I dont think the caliper gets that hot unless your towing something heavy down a mountain pass (in which case if your brake fluid is old, it can boil).
Cannot remember ever getting burned on the caliper after taking wheels off even just after use - the discs on the other hand, yes still remember the pain.

Thanks rrhool, that link has made my day!
If I did purchase said item the cost to get it to Australia would be prohibitive. Oh, I just noticed that the sale has ended so no problems now until the 1st April...
And another good ten minutes can be spent reading all the Qs & As.LeighW
