7 Year Belt renewal
My 2010 D4 is in Aberdeen Peter Vardy for the above job. After discussing with the Workshop Manager they won't be renewing the water pump which I thought was advisable but he said no.
No D5 available but I got a choice of other cars to get me home:
One of these...

Guess what I took?Stew,

It's a D4 so that's not necessary at only 71k miles.Stew,

I would get them to do it as I got mine done last year and was advised not to change water pump and I only had car back less than 24hours and my water pump sheared off.

That water pump failure is attributed to a bolt missed on re-assembly.
I hope they paid for their mistake!Stew,

I'm confused, not difficult I know!
You say you trust your Indy implicitly but your water pump sheared after belt done?
Can you clarify that please?Stew,

It could be an error in my judgment (it has been known), however the issue was rectified FOC so case closed. I'd rather not play the blame game 2010 D4 GS

My 7 year D4 service is also due. So to be clear on the above we are saying water pump = sensible to replace at the same time, but don't worry about the oil pump?
(for info, mine is about 73k miles)D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

As it was rectified FOC then in my opinion they accepted 'blame'.
My Indy no longer does Cambelts as there are too many later incidents which are difficult to apportion 'blame'. They, however, said front and rear belts only unless water pump is showing weeping or bearing play so that's what I did.Stew,
