I think you had some suggestions in the other thead,
1) cut a wire at the stalk to see if that stopped it
2) remove the bulbs!

well cutting a wire somewhere is what you are requesting!
It would be very useful to cut the wire at the switch.
Could help understand where the fault lies

given up trying to fix the problm, just trying to get around it, so a on off switch would be good for just the main beam, dont know if it can be done without setting off loads of lights on dash

As suggested above, just whip the high beam bulbs out. Simples til you can get to the bottom of it.

My high comes on by itself when dark, it's the auto high beam function, you can disable it on the set up menu .
I think it's called high beam assist.
They should only come on when lights are in the auto mode.

I guess the way out of it is to remove the function from the cjb and fit a relay there controlled by the stalk.
I'll try and knock you up a diagram in a day or two.

That's all to complicated for me, I just thought that the bulb was the easiest temp fix, and can be easily put back in to test repairs.

You could fit a relay would be cheaper to fix.
And a piggy back fuse to get power from the horn fuse.
Don't know how easy it is to find the wires at the connectors though

Alternatively, you could use the relay - double pole if you wanted to keep it neat - on the existing feed(s) to isolate it when required.
