more comfortable seat replacement

just completed a 1500m trip to the alps, "new" '06 D3 ran well but I found the driving seat uncomfortable - wondered if there were any easy softer replacements - maybe a RR sport seat ?

I have never found the D3 seats to be uncomfortable in my 09 which I have owned from new.

I wonder whether with age & use the drivers seat base has been compressed?

Swapping seats with those from another vehicle would, ISTR, be rather difficult.

Changing the foam is an easy enough job.

I've done 800miles in a day a couple of times and just got out with no discomfort.

D3 seats are great, so may need new foams, was it back or base issues?

The base foam compresses and the back foam can fail letting the metal frame through Thumbs Up

Is that a big job ? Mine could also do with a new heating element too as I end up like the Swiss footballer,s name "Bernt Hass" Whistle

My 'bum' struggles after 2hrs or so, I think the base in mine could do with a refresh also. Would be interested to see how difficult/hard it is to replace Thumbs Up

I ended up having to sell my first D3 with Manual adjust seat as it gave me neck and back ache , changed to electric one & had no problems in last 10 years

numb bum

cheers all, it's probably the seat foam thats compressed, exacerbated by the need to sit still whilst driving for 12 hours of a 13 hour journey whereas passenger can wriggle around! I'll investigate the foam renewal option
