Pressure testing intercooler system

Hi all,
So trying to get to bottom of ESF limp mode faults that I have been getting...made up a testing system butvwould appreciate if someone could pass a technical eye over my setup to ensure I'm testing right I currently cannot get it to hold any pressure at all eve with compressor pumping air in,I was aiming for around 20psi.
I can't hear any 'hissing' as such but can def hear air entering large pipe.I'm hoping that it is leaking from pipes / inter cooler TBH as hell of slot cheaper and easier than new turbo! :-/
I'm on 170K miles, blanked egr's ,and remapped if it helps, map sensor oily as in pic ,will of course clean along with maf.
Also I have lubed and moved turbo actuator and it's 'seems' OK.
Thanks in advance.

Do you not think you'll be loosing air via the open exhaust valves in the engine and out of the exhaust??

Just link out and block up the IC on the other side Thumbs Up

Bloody hell your right...of course ill be losing pressure out of exhaust...i knew that of course! Whistle Rolling with laughter
So into large rubber hose and remove other hose right hand side of intercooler and block that right?Easy enough to get to?

You also need to block off the PCV pipework, otherwise you loose pressure that way Thumbs Up

Has anyone mentioned how little pressure it needs to damage the intercooler....

Slightly Off Topic

I understand the intercooler can sometimes contain engine oil - how does it get in there and can it ever get into the combustion process?

The crank case breather , if severe then leaky turbo seals Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up

And I assume blown Turbo seals would make themselves noticed anyway?

From experience, it's good for 3bar

If it fails at a lower pressure, it had underlying issues Thumbs Up

I might be very wrong here but.......
Surely if you are pumping air in there it's out the air filter it should go? Not the exhaust Whistle
From where you are pumping in the air it should go through the intercooler through the turbo and back to the filter/ air intake? But from the air intake to the turbo those pipes would be designed for a slight vacuum not pressure, so putting pressure on those might cause them to blow off their connections?

Open to be correction here. Whistle
