United States 2008 LR3 4.4 V8 HSE Auto Java BlackLR3
yet another EAS issue.

Having the same problems as described here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic126053.html
Got a "normal ride height only" fault, followed soon after by dropping to the bumps and 30 MPH max speed. the compressor didn't seem to be running.
was getting Fault code C1A20 - pressure increases too slow when filling reservoir (Intermittent algorithm based failure)
I've installed a compressor refurb kit that includes the air dryer and piston rings, including all the gaskets.
x8r.co.uk/land-rover-discovery-3-4-range-rover-sport-air-compressor-repair-kit-hitachi

now, the compressor runs for a few (~30) seconds, followed by some noise from the valve block between the compressor and the reservoir. it cycles like that a couple of times, and now getting fault c1131-92 (AF)

I've taken off the pipe coming out the air dryer (with the blue push ring) and feel air coming out. but if I put my thumb over it I can almost stop the flow, but not completely. is that normal?
I plan to take the outlet pipes off the valve and make sure air is flowing completely through it.

Further info: 130k miles. original EAS parts. Have been in some deep water and mud in the past few months, and recently had a couple days of freezing a few days prior to this trouble.

Anything else to look into?

Here's a video of the compressor cycling and the valve noise

As you're saying that the output is weak when disconnected from any other components, it's either the power supply (relay) or the compressor. And as it's a 130k miles old hitachi, I'd be pretty sure it's the compressor dying.
I've had it replaced under warranty when the compressor was brand new. The hitachi's can either last relatively or die pretty quickly, your best option if you're replacing it, is the newest AMK.

thanks PsychoBro, that's what I'm afraid is happening. I'm going to try one more thing before heading the new AMK route.
I noticed that the suction coming in was actually pretty good. I took it apart again and found that the pump directional valve is pretty much shot, which may be a factor.
I ordered a kit with the valve, spring, and gasket. It was relatively cheap, so I'll give that a try first.

I hope that'll do the trick! Saves quite a bit of cash there...

replacing that $15 valve did the trick!
now, time to start saving for the AMK compressor.
