Cracked rim!
A little history -
Disco 4 commercial 64 plate, owned from new (Delivery driver to my front door did 300 miles in it, bar the service guys at LR I have done every single other of its 80,000miles) Not a single kerb brushed.
20" 501 alloys (I think that is the name, black and silver)
The factory scorpions managed to about 30k,
A set of Cooper Zeon managed 20k before going egg shaped
50k to now a set of grabber AT3
I noticed that the inner edge of the rears were looking a little 'less grippy' than the other 80% of the tyres, I have always had this issues with this disco so figured I'd get my tyre man to swap the tyres around so the inner edge is on the other edge and run that way for a bit until they are even!
This morning he took off one wheel and immediately noticed that the rim edge on the inside was entirely missing apart from about 8" of it! It has really badly cut in to the tyre too.
I drover to my local dealer and he said it was dangerous and 'probably' a warranty claim but until LR have given him the green light he can't give me a loan car! The technician that looked first said he had seen it a few times before and LR have shipped new rims with no question asked.
Has anyone else had this and if so what was your outcome? I appreciate that 80k is a hellish amount of miles but it is only 30months old and well within original warranty.
Look forward to your stories...

Have seen similar pictures on here. Think the General tyres were blamed in some cases......

Unfortunately, it is classed as wear and tear, known as (I believe) schallamach wave
In extreme cases such as yours, the inner rim wears away completely, and the wheels are scrap
Seemingly very common with GG AT/AT2, it was covered in a few previous threads...My D3 Build Thread
