Range Rover td6 did 125K mostly trouble free miles
Bought a
Range Rover TDV8 still mostly trouble free

What would I have next another Range Rover 😄

But if they did a D4 with a TDV8 I'd buy that

I love my Landmark but after seeing the D5, I just can't get my head around its looks so it'll be a Range Rover next time and possibly the V6 Petrol given that the Tax Man doesn't like Diesel anymore.

Current D4 HSE Lux for as long as possible and buy another used, lower mileage, one after that if I completely kill my current one!

After that, I have absolutely no idea! Rolling Eyes

United States 2005 Discovery 3 4.4 V8 SE Auto Bonatti GreyDiscovery 3

It's hard to get Defenders in the US at a fair price so I have not had a chance to buy one yet.
I have owned 5 LR's till this point in the past 12 years. The D3 has been the best of the pack I have had.
The D3 has a comfy ride, lot's of space, its not a fancy looking rover (and it's some what utilitarian) compared to the RR and the D4. And I like the tailgate.
Rovers I have owned.
RR 1988 1 year
RR 1991 2 years
D2 1999 3 years
D3 2005 V8 SE 5 plus years it's been a solid, excellent and a reliable truck, not planning to sell it any day soon. My Lady's new D3 2005 V8 SE our new edition we have owned it for over a year been also solid, and reliable not planning on selling it any day soon either.
Waiting to see what the new Defender brings. If I like it I will buy it, if not, maybe a 2013 D3 last V8 model.

I struggle with this question because I have other quality motors on the drive but I adore my D3 and see the D4 as a natural progression but the price differential is too great for me .Now if I could only afford to run one car then things become much more difficult my short list would be very late D4 or a FFRR and I guess that after having driven both the FF would win due to the ride and aesthetics but the D4 would not be very far behind Thumbs Up

I always find these polls interesting 'cause I think that it throws light on the dichotomy between dudes that want a big capable 4x4 and dudes that really like landies, I'm in the latter group. A Audi A6 estate would do everything I need, but alas I fear that they are cr@p, all cars are cr@p, there is only Landrover* I drive a Deafner all week and the D4 is for best.

Looked at the D5 and it's effing fantastic and if I can stay out of both prison and the mortuary I'm having one. There are those about with sloping foreheads and very strong jawlines that will say "That D5 is cr@p, my 580 year old 200TDI is clearly better" to whit I say," it's not, really it's not" and given the fact that Jerry McG isn't going to suddenly say "Christ men, let start making D1's again" it's going to have to be D5 for me.

*All cars are cr@p is my personal view and is based on nothing more than my own delusions. I swear before a jury of my peers not to be offended by differing views expressed herein (I know that this flies in the face of internet forum law, but it's been a good week and I'm in a mellow refrain)

Scotland 2016 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 Landmark LE Auto ZanzibarDiscovery 4

1) Just replaced my 7 year old MY2010 HSE with MY2016 Landmark to extend my D4 ownership well into the future. In truth I preferred the HSE, the Landmark has just too many interacting electronic 'features.'

2) I had a RRS TDV8 which was a fab driving car but we kept running out of space for holiday kit. With the D4 we have never run out of space. I want THE most capable offroad car which is also competent on road so I stick with the D4.

3) Replacement will be some time away and who knows what will be available by then. I may just run this one until it dies for offroading, and get a more economical car for the road.

I really love the velar as well, so in an idle lunch time spec'ed one up with the same engine as the D4 and the same spec,HSE or whatever they call it and she was tipping in at just shy of 85 large. and no, I didn't tick all the boxes
That's a lot of dough
