Autobox reluctant upshift

Hi all...
Newbie/First post, some advise and opinions please or maybe a techie could help.
I've had a look around on here for some info regarding a possible issue with the gearbox on my
recently acquired 2010 D4, but no luck.

My concerns are, it seems very reluctant up shift from 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th until the revs are at a minimum of 2000 rpm, even on very light, virtually nil throttle, it almost won't shift until it's over the 2000 rpm mark,
I've just changed to the D4 from a 2005 TDV6 RRS which I owned for 5 years, with the gearboxes being very similar you get used to gear shift patterns etc, especially as my journey to work is always the same and involves a few 30 and 40 speed limits. The RRS would always find 4th trundling though the villages at 30 ish.
Sitting at 2k on light throttle doesn't seem quite right.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this?

Thanks for any advise or info.

Phil

Reluctant autobox upshift....

I think during the first couple of months of ownership involved my travelling a short distance to work
and a lack of any journey over 5 or 6 miles, and while the transmission is warming up that's the way
it is... the shifting all seems good on journeys 10+ miles once everything is warmed up,
I guess it's to aid warm up and decrease warm up time.

Not sure of your milage but a gearbox Flush stopped my gearbox being painfully reluctant to shift when cold. It still holds the gears longer when cold. It not to the point of being concerning.

Ok thanks James..
It's done 100k and no record of a fluid change in the history,
A gearbox fluid change is the next job on the list, the revs fluctuate slightly around 2000 rpm just after shifting into, I think, 2nd.
I only notice it before it's warmed up. I'm not sure whether to pump the fluid out and change the sump pan and filter at the same time etc, or just get it flushed and leave the pan. I'm keen to use ZF or LR fluid though.
