Ours is 11 years old and has been much loved by the family from new.
My wife and daughter love the elevated driving position.
My son loves it because he has small children and feels they are in the safest of environments.
There would be an outcry if I ever thought of leaving the brand - even though its not the cheapest car to own !!!!!

Mods:
RRS modded grill- Narpy.
De tango'd lights- Beanie.
EGR's blanked -Flack
LED's allround.

agree , my kids , also wouldn't be too pleased if i ever got rid of the landy

was great out for an evening , with both my kids, well adults really , 25 & 30, my parents , grandson and dogs

plenty of leg room, ample room in the boot to fill up with everybodies odds and sods

only had mine 5 x months or so but in that short space of time made a good impression with friends and family , saying how nice and comfortable it is

alas never letting on and crying quietly with all the repairs previously done Big Cry

gotta luv em Thumbs Up

Love mine. Honestly besides a new RRS or FFRR, I don't think anything else would give me the same satisfaction. Plus parts, so far (although this month is pushing it!) are less expensive than a car payment. Not planning on getting rid of it anytime soon. 10 years old and I've had it for 7 of those 10. Honestly wouldn't change a thing about it.

Had an '05 RRS TDV6 and loved it. Got a larger family and got a D4, it is much bigger everywhere and love it as do they. Drove a friends 17 plate FFRR Vogue recently, loved the full length sunroof and what a lovely car but boot was way smaller and we need the 5 seats. Maybe one day a FFRR but for now I love my D4...although the Mrs calls it my 'armchair' and has bought me a flat cap (which I rather like...)..

Very Happy

SWMBO doesn't criticise it so that must mean she likes it!

my brother for his sins bought an evoque , after driving my D3 feel it's got a lot more room to start with

the rear window in his is terrible , even worse at night , has a rear view camera but was raining at the time and couldn't see a thing

like most of us had land rovers 30x years and must admit found the D3 to be the best out there, for comfort , drivability

was good seeing my dad have a drive, as he's nearly 90 he was amazed with the advancement of land rovers

we all remember those times that 50mph with ear plugs was the norm, Rolling with laughter

having days out with all the family , dogs inc it really proved to me how much i like the discovery range

SWMBO isn't a fan of my RRS because it's not exactly environmentally friendly but I think she respects it for what it can do. It tows her horses with ease, takes us and the dogs on holiday and commutes me to and from work. Trips to the tip are an easy seat drop and pile it in.

She doesn't love it but I think she's happy we've got it.

Eighteenth..

Year of Discoveryyship...
On the whole the reasons we bought have been fulfilled...
Go anywhere in bad conditions.....country roads, long journeys in winter....snow slush...no salt or road clearing. This is done with aplomb instilling confidence in the driver...which isn't just me.
COMFORT......for five...with the option for two more ....an essential attribute....if you ain't comfortable it ain't on.....rear seat capabilities critical.
Load carrying...bulky or not so bulky but large amounts.....the series 1, 2 & 3 have excelled them selves...being real workhorses.
Towing....horse boxes which aren't the easiest with fidgeting horses...car trailers..huge ones over long distances....real capability here too in abundance
Rugged dependability.....on the whole fulfilled.
How it looks, gadgets, bling.....not important at all...I've considered my string of vehicles the civilised versions of Defenders...so style is a factor....but the Disco 3/4 is classic vehicle architecture the shape decided by its function is to me one that won't age & to me hasn't.

So any upgrade or replacement has a huge pair of boots to fill......let's hope LandRover realise this - Discos in 3/4 form aren't "niche" vehicles. The have set a standard that other makers & Landrover themselves will struggle to equal or improve upon.
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

like ur self come up the models and onto the D3 , last one was a freelander, whilst it was comfortable , it wasn't meeting the needs i wanted a vehicle for

wanted more room, more capable for off road, nothing extreme but better ground clearance for a start

but mainly so i can take my parents and grandson out in comfort , along with the dogs , also being able to get off the beaten track

even the other day i thanked my lucky stars i had the disco, all went to a boot fare, parking in a field, later on started to rain, so field turned into a mud bath and cars started to wheel spin

did help a car get out, as he had a family, would have felt mean just driving past

think like many of us we choose them for there capabilities

still can't get over how quiet and smooth it is down the motorway

always taken my hat off to people who tow horses, having i imagine 1/2 ton moving around , can't be easy with that kind of weight moving from side to side Bow down

as a side note, hope land rover get the new defenders design right,
