I was interested in getting a Mega Flush done as my Discovery 3 was exhibiting some of the usual faults that suggest the oil was past it (rev fluctuations mainly and also revving higher than usual before up change).
I normally use AMR Autos (Greenhow Hill Farm, near Great Ayton) as I feel they offer a great level of service but more importantly for me, I feel that they are honest (I hate it when you go to a garage and they say you NEED this and that when you really don't!). They had the latest specc'ed Wynns Mega Flush machine available and the Mega Flush was carried out (what a beautifully clean process!).
Its most certainly made a difference to do my vehicle. The main thing i've noticed is the fluctuating revs have gone. I used to see the rev counter bobbing up and down when I was driving at a constant speed.
Its a shame that Land Rover have a suggested service schedule of 150,000 miles as I understand that the gear box manufacturer, ZF, suggest an oil change at around half of that. Going beyond ZF's recommendations is surely putting excessive wear on the box and TC.
So if you are thinking of getting a flush done, for me its been worth the money
