guys might need a second hand or new cjb,do these need to be linked to the car or just plug and play

The CJB contains the security info for the car. To use a 2nd hand one, you would need the CJB, PCM and both keys at the bare minimum My D3 Build Thread

what part looks after the main beam as they keep going on and off and can this part be renewed??

From memory lights are controlled via FET. Which are transistors effectively.

I'm pretty sure they are very hard to replace. Mark.
