Wheel alignment and tyres

After 18k miles my original fit Goodyear Wranglers will need changing soon, no bad thing as I've never liked Wranglers anyway, so was only biding time before I get Pirelli ATRs on.

I'd probably get another 5k or so out of the Wranglers if it weren't for the fact that the two on the offside have worn really badly on the outside edge, to the point where on the rear one there isn't any tread left at all on the outside inch of the tyre but a good 3mm across the rest of the tyre Shocked

Clearly I need to get a 4 wheel alignment done, presumably with the Hunter or equivalent kit?

Should I change the tyres first, then get the alignment done as soon as possible afterwards?

I was advised to only get alignment done on evenly worn tyres as badly worn will load the bushes and could give erroneous readings and alignment would need doing again when worn tyres replaced.
