EPB Fault and Loud Screaming Noise

Hi All

I have read the forum a few times to try and get to the answer but as far as I can see, no one has described my symtoms and noise.

This is what I get when I apply the handbreak.

I have been under the car today and took the cover off the EPB Module and it didn't look like the pictures in Disco_Mikey's post on http://disco3.co.uk/forum/topic91299.html.

This is when the handbreak is on

And this is when it is off

Does anyone know what could be causing that noise?

Thanks

Yep, it wants servicing and adjusting, read Bodsy's brake bible in the wiki.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Hi

Mine did that - exact same noise.

Before I had a chance to get it to the Indy

SWMBO used it - jammed solid - had to have dicscovery recovered

Then a complete new module - costing around £959 Big Cry

With labour etc,

My advice don't use EPB & get it adjusted etc asap.

Hope that helps

Shocked When you say 'screaming' .......? - from brand new mine has always made.... what I would call a squeak/squeal - which can only be heard when the window is open...i - Is that normal?

should be a spinning noise once engaged...that's the module setting itself..screaming can be several...linings have detached and jammed...crap in drum...other bits broken.

that would make perfect sense, the handbreak holds, and I had to do a recovery last weekend and went in to some dirty water
