Xenon Or Halogen?

Hello All,

I was on Fleabay to buy a full Disco3 to Disco4 (2014) upgrade/ conversion kit but then got asked if my headlamp is a Xenon or Halogen. I actually haven't got a clue as I bought the vehicle sometimes last year without a manual.

Any hint/tip as on how to very this please?

Cheers,

Mo

Its easy enough to pop the headlamps out and remove the back cover, if the bulb holder has warning sticker on its xenon.
Have you noticed when you turn the lights on if they do a little dance?

Hi there, I just imported my LHD LR3 HSE 2009 My from the UAE to the UK, it has adaptive bi xennon headlights, and i need RHD units, can i just install halogen headlights to use for the MOT and the UK and swap out the bi xenons when driving abroad? any advice welcome.

No problem, it's a straight swap/plug & play. The only thing is the setting for xenons starts off at full volts which reduces the halogen bulb life, the halogen setting in the CCF has that slightly dimmer for a few seconds to warm the bulb up before giving it full volts.

Thanks All,
I do appreciate your help! Looking at DSL's pictures, It look like it's a Xenon, though I'm not sure I've ever noticed the said headlight dancing effect.

Meanwhile, the Guy on fleabay said Halogen would not fit if I had Xenon & said I'll have to cough out extra £500 for the Xenon version.

My headlamps pictures below :

Regards

Base model would be Halogen

HSE would usually be HID

They are Xenon, but only adaptive ones will 'dance' on start up.

Do a search on here, there is a thread about just adjusting a switch on the back of each headlight which will sort your problem
