Hi,
I've recently started noticing that just as the revs are about to pass the 2000 mark the engine starts to sound a little rougher, like a faint grinding noise. There's also a very slight vibration that can be felt thru the steering wheel. This stops as soon as the revs go above 2000 and can be felt again as they drop. The same does not happen while in Neutral. While in N the engine revs smoothly.
Anybody else noticed this or has an idea about what might cause it?
Thanks,
Cosmin

That is the rev range that the turbo comes on song so possible a turbo issue, it's also the
range where the Torque converter has issues.
My guess is TC as the turbo should still exhibit the problem whether under load or not.

I've also got a shudder/vibration through the steering wheel in 3rd. No grinding engine noise though.
2 tubes of Dr. Tranny in the transmission oil via the cooler hose and the symptom is gone for the past 10.000km.
