[For Sale] Robbie's Makita MAC610 Air Compressor
Makita MAC610 quiet (!) air compressor. A rather compact and portable air compressor for light duties only. I have long since moved away from air tools but this little unit provided air for those things that still need it - air blowing, inflating tyres, paint spray etc. Refreshingly this belt-driven compressor will not wake the dead when it runs and its design readily allows for additional sound deadening to be added to the inside of the case.

I modified the unit after purchase to add a decent mains cable and improved the internal wiring.

I have cleaned and serviced the compressor; it runs well and has no leaks:

The drive belt is in pristine condition:

The commutator is nice and smooth with no real wear to speak of and the brushes have loads of meat left on them:

The compressor runs at a little over 8 bar with a regulator to dial it down to your preferred output:

The fitting included is for an XF/Euro/Hi Flo type connector:

Other than that there is not much to say about a little air compressor. It looks and runs like new and is easy to modify. List price is around £200 but they can be had for around £150 from the usual discount places.
£70.00 collected from Gainsborough.

As a matter of interest, would one of these be capable of wax injection/spraying with a Shultz gun ?Visitor from fullfatrr.com

On something car or SUV size or smaller it would do it with ease, especially with a variable gun. It would not be able to do large continuous panels, so large vans and trucks would not be good as the reservoir would be depleted and the free air delivery of the pump would not keep up.
Best to think of these small compressors as very large and powerful aerosol cans. Great at burst work, but rubbish if run continuously.
