Bad vibrations

Just want a few opinions before I take it to the garage on Monday if possible. When I drive down the motorway at 65 to 70 mph all is well for the first 2 or 3 miles then I start to get a vibration, not much at first but then over the next mile or so it builds and gets worse until I have to drop to below 50 to make it stop as it is shaking the car quite badly. When I go off the motorway onto A roads it is fine as i am only doing 30 or 40. I have Cooper LTZ,s on (with plenty of tread) and had the wheels balanced but the problem is just the same. Do you think it could be a defective tyre or something more sinister ? Any help appreciated Thumbs Up Thanks.....

Gareth I have had my parking brake squeal a few times lately so it is going in Monday to be adjusted as it was only done with new shoes 4000 miles ago.
Thankyou both of you,if it is one of those I can cope with it as it has not been in garage since December so I have been leading a charmed life Whistle

Yeah, it did it a couple of times and I just pulled off at the next junction, took it to my indie and he fitted a new front hub bearing and never happened again
Could be worth having them checked out

Hi Mark,

Never had this problem with the Disco but occasionally have a problem on the trucks. It's always been a wheel balance issue - sometimes only cured by new tyres on the front. Have you tried (or dared if the shaking is so bad) to accelerate beyond 70mph to see if the shaking stops? The trucks are limited to 56 mph and sometimes only have the shakes between certain speeds....

Thumbs Up

If it was that it would be a cheap fix for me as the indie who did it is going to adjust it on Monday. Hope so Thumbs Up
So is the general consensus of opinion that it is either the EBP get hot as it is sticking or a wheel bearing ?
