fixed - wobbly manual gear stick selector pivot/yoke part

I have play in the gear stick which gives it a slightly sloppy feel. I have replaced the detent circlip and the 2 circlips and o'rings on the gear linkage but this has not had any effect. Sad

On inspection of the bottom of the gear stick under the rubber gaiter there is a white plastic ball/pivot and a white plastic yoke. The collar is partially broken as seen in the photo below. I have searched and cannot find this part referenced anywhere, diagrams or a part number.

I would like to replace this - but can someone help, does anyone know the part number or the correct term of reference?

Your best bet is probably going to a LR dealer parts dept and asking them.

fixed - w manual gear stick selector pivot/yoke part number?

Thanks Thumbs Up I contacted LR parts department and they gave me the part number - ULA500010 its for the whole stick assembly:

So I took the current gear stick out:

The bottom of the pivot ball and yoke looked like this: Shocked

I fitted the new one and now have a much more springy return on the gear stick and minimal gear stick wobble. Very Happy

Gear Linkage Kit - ULA500010 quote part number to order

Worth ordering by part number as my two local dealers began by quoting for a gear lever assembly with linkages. More than twice the price!

I have just ordered one as the plastic ball and cup were breaking up. (Not helped by somebody not used to the vehicle trying to select reverse by pushing the stick down and across!)

I was also able to make a temporary repair by putting the broken pieces back together. Fiddly but worth it if you are out somewhere or need to wait a day or two for the part to arrive.
