Hi all looking for a few pointers. Just got home from a trip round town to find 1 rear disk is glowing red. Any thoughts as to causes? I was thinking a fault on the handbrake actuator.

I've just had to unstick my rear left calliper. It had glazed the pads and badly warped the disc.
I checked behind the rubber boot on the piston, to find light surface corrosion which had been caused by water and dirt getting through a small hole in the rubber boot. Luckily I had a set of rear discs/pads waiting in the garage.
I then spent 30mins with a sturdy rag covered in brake fluid polishing it back to a serviceable state, fixed the hole in the boot and exercised it with the rewind tool. I did this mostly because all my spare cash goes in the tank... however a certain auction site does the replacement piston for around £15 or you can get the whole sherbang for about £40. Also while it's in bits, test, adjust and lube your EPB.
See the wiki on here for Bodsys brake bible. Invaluable literature
