First post in what seems to be an excellent forum, thanks already for lots learned!
My D4 has side steps attached that I don't want or need. I'd like to remove them which I believe is pretty straightforward however I understand that for these to have been installed originally the outer plastic sill covers will have had to be cut. Therefore if I remove the steps there will be holes left in the covers for road debris to enter the sill area.
Is this the case? If it is then the only way around this seems to be to purchase new sill covers and I cannot find any listings or prices for these online. Has anyone had any experience of this?
Thanks

just a comment before you remove them - they are one of the best protectors for stopping folks flinging their doors into your car when parked. Put your Disco up into off road height when parked, then when someone next to you when bay parked chucks their door open it hit the steps first.

+1 for them acting as impact protection. I parked in local supermarket last week, some plonker opened their door, wind caught it, smashed into the step. Light scratch to my step, nice crease in their door edge. Until I upgrade to prospeed sliders my steps are staying on. Jarrod
