Tyre Sizes ride etc

Ok All,
Here is what seams a stupid question.
I am currently running 20" wheels.

How would the ride quality / Handling change if i was to put 19's on instead?

So you mean the 19 is a nicer ride?

18's are the best ride unless u have 17's.

Not always Shocked surely 255x55x20 give a very marginal better ride than 255x55x19! It's the section that makes the difference, the 40, 45, 50, 55, or 60 bit, 40 being the worse and 60 the best.

So by going down to 19 or even 18 I can get a 60 or more and plusher ride. But guessing more flexible on corners as more rubber to flex. If I expressed that correctly.

So in that case I may be on the lookout for some 19 or even 18 black D4 wheals

Smallest standard size you can fit to a D4 is 19 inch.
There are a small number of 18 inch that do fit, such as Compomotive.

I've got 20's on my D4 and find they pull on the steering more than 19's when accelerating, they seem to need more driver input. No problems in the comfort department.

Need a new set of winter tyres for a road trip so I'll get some 19' wheels to put them on.

Shame though, as I love the style of the 20's that are on there.

My last 2 D4's have came with 20" wheels and I found the ride to be a lot harder, you seem to feel every bump in the road. Now running 19's and much happier with the ride. Thumbs Up

As said earlier, it's not the 19/20 part that affects the ride much, it's the section that follows i.e. 45/50/55.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Except that 255/55/20 is not the correct size as it should be 255/50/20 to get the right radius
