On the road a week and this morning it wouldnt start :(
Bit of bad news this morning
Went out to the disco this morning to drive to work, and no go It turns over fine, plenty of cranking amps, over 1/4 tank of diesel, but just cranks and wont fire
Back story/potentially related symptoms:
->Since getting it back on the road last week, there has been a very intermittent loss of power, i would describe it as a single misfire, for a split second, then its gone. It only seemed to occur on light acceleration initially, but then appeared more on harder acceleration, and once or twice if i really put the foot down, higher up in the revs, it would present as a repeated misfire.
->This intermittent misfire/split second loss of power became a more common during a 400 mile round trip on monday, and began happening every few minutes on the motorway, regardless of whether i was accelerating hared, soft or also on over run.
->Yesterday morning i noticed at idle, the D3 would intermittently labor as it it had misfired on a cylinder for a split second, and it seemed to do this a few times during the day, as well as doing it while driving.
->Finally, this morning if just refused to start, i tried cycling the key to heat the plugs and prime the LPFP a bit, but no luck, i checked the schrader valve and there seemed to be flow from it, not a lot (but that could be due to me not pressing it fully) but there was no air.
So, im just wondering what people think might be the root cause? I initially was blaming a dodgy injector for the misfire symptoms, but i dont think that one injector would stop it from starting, im not thinking it could possibly be the LPFP has given up?
Cheers lads!

Hoping to borrow a computer this eve to plug it in, so should hopefully know more later. Had to head to work this morning so didnt get a chance to do much diagnostics yet

I am no expert on this engine, but I've seen intermittent no-starting on other common rail engines, such as the freelander/bmw TD4, due to a failed injector loosing fuel pressure.2008 TDV8 Sport HSE
1973 SIII Lightweight

Try Bradex Easystart, if it starts and runs normally, then worth doing a fuel leak-off test on the injectors which will show which injector (or not) is losing pressure to the rail.

Plugged it in this evening, cleared the codes and she started up, rounding a bit rough for a second then clears, but still has a small miss every so often. Heres what came up:

Ignore the boost related faults, I never tightened a jubilee clip and a hose blew off!
Im reckoning low fuel pressure on the LPFP side, so going to test it this eve using Robbies method and see whats what.

Also, once running, injector values were as follows, is this fairly op or should i be looking at changing any of them soon?

Well a quick test of the current draw on the LPFP showed just under 4Amps looks like I need a new LPFP!

new LPFP fitted (just the pump itself, not the full in tank unit) and no luck, still very slow to start, as if its fuel starved, and after a few starts like that, ECU says no more and doesnt allow it to start...
Going to get a gauge on the LPFP Schrader valve and check the pressure its putting out, but im starting to suspect the HPFP that was fitted a few weeks back , may have been in worse condition than the one that was in it.
A quick comparrison of idle fuel pressure shows 280Bar, whereas the old HPFP was showing 360Bar....
Looks like ill be tearing the engine apart again

Yeah, so basically, i had the HPFP replaced as i thought that was the root cause of the initial problem (turned out to be cam chain) so im assuming the HPFP that was on it initially was fine, still have it in the boot, so going to swap it back in and hope for the best!
