Could this be a brake switch issue or not?

Trigger has developed a small niggle recently when towing the trailer (but works fine on the truck so not the trailer)

Indicate right and the trailer indicator light on the dash (the little green trailer light) disappears for a few flashes when:

1) Indicate first, then cover the brake lightly and then harder to a stop

2) Does not do it if you brake evenly THEN indicate right or brake to a stop, then indicate right

3) Or when stationary

I've had the towing electrics checked for loose connections etc (I was present when this was done). I've had the OSR light fitting out, fitted with OEM bulbs, I also checked for loose wires in the connections both with the trailer attached and not with the trailer attached.

Any ideas, as I say only when indicating right (not even when actually turning right)

It's worth remembering the Disco sends pulses down the trailer indicator wires to check for the correct impedance on the bulb. That's what is used to detect a trailer-thus the green trailer light on the dash. This is why you can't use LED trailer lights (unless you add a resistor). It could also point to an issue with the indicator bulb-start by replacing them

Hi Chap, you must be on a million miles by now!

I reckon you might have a bad earth wire in the trailer loom somewhere. Try earthing the trailer to the car with a jump lead from the trailer chassis to the car chassis, and then check to see if the problem has disappeared.

I know you've had them checked, but it could be intermittent and easily missed.
