Changing headlights to LHD for France
Afternoon everyone, first post.
Need to convert the headlights to LHD on my Discovery 3 2.7 TD V6 so that it passes the CT when I register it over there. Europarts out of stock until June (!) so looking for recommendations of others to try. Also any ball park figures to get it done?
Quite frankly some of the threads on here bake my head as you all seem to be very knowledgeable and enthusiastic - I'm going to be posting all sorts of naïve and daft questions, so please be gentle!
Cheers
Neil

Someone is bound to ask so - what type of headlights do you have at present (ie halogen, xenons etc). If unsure then a photo might be an idea Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE
Previously:

300TDi Disco 1 (289k)

110 V8 CSW (220k)
S3 109 hi cap pickup (ex RN)
S2A 88 Safari SW with lpg conversion (bloody lethal)

If you fill in your profile info we can see what trim level etc you have.
In my 2006 D3 HSE, there was a lever on the back of the headlight unit that you rotated to select LHD or RHD. You needed to remove the grill and the headlight to get to it. I remember several trips on the Eurotunnel with the car in bits and people looking curiously as they walked by....
Check this: 2018 1.5Ti Skoda Octavia - dull as f&ck
2019 D5 SdV6 SE Anniversary - black/black - good riddance!!
2010 D4 TDV6 HSE - Nara Bronze with black - now gone!!
2006 D3 TDV6 HSE - Buckingham Blue with Alpaca - now gone!!
BMW R1200GS - also blue, also gone!!
Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin DCT - Dakar colours
Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 - the Black Arrow
Xenons to be able to switch over I believe
So if you have standards halogens it's the "sticker"
Buy them on the boat...BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

I really won’t bother, mine has been 6 years in Spain with RHD headlights, no one has ever flashed me, it has even passed the ITV here (equivalent of the MOT in Spain but in my view far more rigorous).Club Narpy Torch

Cheers for the replies everyone.
They're basic halogens. If I changed to xenon so that i can manually switch over I'm assuming I'd have to get washers fitted for them too. Seems a bit of a ballache, and obviously more expensive.
Stickers won't help me pass the French MOT which I need to register it there. Just rather do a straight swap as it'll be spending near on 8 months a year out there.

Do you know anyone locally that has a left hand drive D3 and can just swap lights with you for the MOT? Easy to swap, 1 minute job, and just plug and play.
