disabling suspension ECU with fuse 26e and driving?

Hi,

I've got a problem and need a temporary solution whilst I get time to fix the main problem. My suspension is losing height over night, I'm waiting for some new 60 amp fuses to be delivered for the compressor circuit all it's on its knees in the morning. I can put a temporary 60 amp app equivalent fuse to get the compressor going and put air back in the system. With a diagnostic tool I can monitor the corner heights but overnight it levels and drops.

This is only for a few days but I'm wondering if I get it pumped up to hotmail height, then take out fuse 26e to stop it sinking, I could drive it around locally in normal height mode until I manage to sort out the main problem.

Any advice for or against this? I'm only driving locally no distance, one or two people in the car nothing else. I'm just in a big did at the moment.

Cheers

I drove approx. 4,000km with the fuse removed (replacing it each morning to raise the car) due to a trashed ABS sensor ring and had no adverse effects (that I've spotted so far).

Totally fine. In older D3s it was even possible to inflate the suspension from an outside source before driving around with the fuse removed.

If the compressor can provide the air and the system can pipe it to the bags you can use an IID Tool to set the suspension in a state of your choosing before disabling it. No need for fuse removal or anything.

Hi, so my IID tool arrived, working fine, but can't seem to find the way to set suspension height and then disable any changes... In order to replicate the removal of fuse 26th.

Any chance you could enlighten me?

Thanks

Robbie, what's the best way to get air into a D3 if your compressor is not playing nicely?

Pete.
IID, webasto software and workshop facility's available.

Add a schrader to the tank (older tank design) or provide air direct to the system via a suitable T fitting. There are readymade kits on the market that provide everything you would ever need.
