Disco3 battery
Hi all i know this has been talked about on forum before but my 05 discovery 3 has recently started draining it's battery overnight. I have had the fault appear when starting about the HDC not working and also have had low battery flash up on radio a while back before started playing up. My father in law tested alternator and battery reading OK charge wise while I was at work so he said won't be battery. I can't help but think it must be though especially after reading previous posts or am I best to start searching for something draining battery.
Thanks in advance all the best harry

hi
how old is ur battery plse
what readings are u getting with the engine off and then on
had the same with mine not holding its charge over a few days
have u checked cleaned the battery posts and terminals first
i bit the bullet and bought a new exide battery
have u removed the battery and given it a full charge
need to determine if the alternator is ok first

For under two quid one of the most useful things you can have in any car.
Not insulting your FIL but does he know what the D3 charges at? its way higher than older cars.

Has the battery been checked with a heavy discharge, to ascertain if it is still up to capacity. It only needs to be down a bit and you will get all sorts of errors on start up. I have just changed the one on my D3 . Solved all the spurious messages, warnings, and Sat nav./radio blank.

I've got one of those and it reads 0.4 volt under the actual battery reading, most annoying but cheap enough to get another to see if that works...De-Tango
V8 Brakes
EGRs blanked
Running boards
3 flash indicators and clock on dash
Blingy grille...

Just bought another one for the D4. Even easier to see than the D3.
