Suspension dropping when car not used - likely cause?
I have noticed recently that the car seems to drop when its been left for a few days. Also twice now I have received a 'normal height only' (or some such) warning message when driving the car - which has coincided with the adaptive headlights warning light flashing (linked?).
Yesterday started the car and it took a fair while to bring itself up to normal height and even longer to get up to off road height at the front.
I have a warranty on it, so will be ringing to get it booked in tomorrow. But would be good to get a steer on likely causes. I am guessing compressor fault/failure.MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

It's probably sinking because of a leak, and the compressor is overworking to compensate.Richard

if you don't sort the leak chances are compressor will work twice as hard and burn out..££££££££££
+1 on the leak.
I had my rear suspension airlines melted by the exhaust of the FBH within 500 miles of picking it up.
Sorted under warranty, but a known fault that should have been noticed on the PDI.

Picked up the car last night, been with them for 4 days. There was an air leak from a 'regulator' which was replaced, but LR warranty wanted to just do that initially, then test compressor. Turned out that needed replacing too.
All covered by warranty, if I had to pay it would have been more than the extended warranty cost - so quids in for 2nd year in a row - should I be so pleased my car needs to be fixed so much?MY2012 D4 HSE Nara Bronze with some extra stuff

Good you got it sorted.
My D4 drops to access height overnight. But only the front. Could it be leak? It shouldnt stop at access height then, should it? ANd it doesn't always draop as much. If I've parked with the front higher (!) it tends to drop less.
I have the GAP-tool and will calibrate the suspension and flash ECU. Will let you know how that works out. But I'm a bit puzzled about this and if anyone has an idea what's going on it'll be much appreciated.

Skarre, you more than likely have a leak. No point in calibrating the suspension until you have checked out the mechanical fundamentals first. There is at least one point in the pipe run from the front distribution block to the suspension units where the pipe can rub against metal and develop a leak. The front distribution block is also a possible source of the problem. I would trace the pipework from the compressor forward and search for a leak using soapy water and a good ear. I could hear the leak I had.
Good luck.

Thanks. But could there really be a leak if it varies in height and if it doesn't lower itself to the bumpstops?

If the front drops i would suspect the front valve block. Had mine replaced for that reason. D4 GS 12MY

Seems logical. And it's not very expensive. Så let's decide that's what's wrong with it.
