2nd Battery Box storage?

I have a normal, single battery D3. My 2nd battery box is empty, apart from the brake fluid reservoir.

Is there any reason why I can't use this space for storage? I was thinking jump leads, tow rope etc.

Funny this my dad's read in the D3 Haynes manual I bought him to do some stuff on his RSS that I should have another battery behind the air box
As I was at work when he rung I assured him I didn't have such a thing on my D3 and to go and check k his RRS
Sure enough he don't have one
Trouble is he's now thinking of fitting a second one ,no idea why idle hands in retirement Shocked

prob be good to ensure anything stowed in there is well secured down as the steering shaft is located in that box you don't want to find something has shifted as you steam into a roundabout Shocked Laughing

I'll investigate securing stuff. Good point re the steering column. Could be a useful bit of space.

Just to follow this up, there's a nice space for stuff between the abs unit and the brake fluid reservoir. I put jump leads and tow rope in there. As they're both larger items, they can't get past the reservoir to the steering column which is much further back.
