Most on here will recommend Pentewan Sands where the campsite ( which is huge ) literally backs on to the beach...close to Mevagissey it is a very vibrant and busy site...

Personally too busy and noisy for me.. I prefer these: http://www.trethem.com
And both Boswinger https://www.visitcornwall.com/accommodatio...liday-park
And lastly Treatheake Manor:
http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk...gle_places

Stunning area... depends whether you want busy for the kids or quiet and away from it all....
The nicer site for the more discerning is Tretham.... but don't expect 2 am parties!

Hope this helps a little...

You won't find a better site than www.trebellan.co.uk - lovely pool, very quiet and set in a stunning valley surrounded by beautiful walks, yet just a few minutes from some of the best beaches in Cornwall, all dog friendly, no on-site entertainment or any of that tat but a lovely old thatched pub bang opposite that does great food, their website really doesn't do them any justice!

Through work i've travelled around Cornwall and have visited many campsites and without doubt I'd recommend Trebellan.

We have been using the same site for 25 years , funnily enough the same one my parents took us to when we where small.
Trevornick in Holywell bay , Pool, Golf , Fishing,2 Pubs one quite one with turns on , very safe and clean friendly park .
Tried a few others for the odd week now and then and always gone back.
each to their own though Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up spot on bud
I only go last week in June first week in July as any later and the whole of the Newquay area becomes a mare for parking plus all prices jump up to catch the school holiday trade .
Make sure you have a walk over to Polly Joke just North of Holywell bay , you can walk a nice loop if you leave the site from the back of the golf course and return via the beach .
hope you enjoy

All these recs are for the Atlantic coast. It has long beaches with sand but it also has all the emmets and traffic. The most beautiful part of the county is the south coast (I'm biased; it's my home). The most stunning coast and inland rivers (we're on the Helford) and great pubs. The beaches tend to lack the golden sands of the north, but there are cliffs to climb and rock pools, safer swimming and much more to see than in the hell-holes of Newquay and St Ives in peak season.

I'd say consider the south coast. You can always day trip to the north. (Especially if you miss sitting in traffic and doing laps of car parks).

We are walking into St Ives this weekend.

Its relatively quiet and most of the place is open.

We won't go back then till November - its mad till then.

Where ever you go enjoy! Thumbs Up
