Just noticed my spare alloy wheel 20" 511? Has been removed along with the plastic cover and lowering mechanism!
So that's a nice bill coming my way!!

try ebay, you will probably find the stolen one there
There are plenty of sellers on ebay selling winches at a fraction of the cost of LR.
Defo get an RLD protector to stop it happening again

Keep an eye out on here also as I've just sold a 511 wheel and tyre this week so they do come up, also make sure you have one of Ray's protectors before you fit your replacement alloy
This is one of the newer type protectors fitted.Cheers Ian

Makes sure you use plenty of grease on those two locking pins where the flanges are in contact with the alloy wheel hub. My new style RLD was on for less than a year and those pins (well, one of them to be fair..) seized hard to the wheel and wasn't capable of being removed at the roadside.
Some guy suggested putting a piece of hard plastic between the two surfaces which is what I do now.
Great bits of kit but beware the reaction between the two metals and a bit of water..
Also keep the winch nice and tight so the wheel cannot be 'undone' snapping the cable..
these pins are now in plastic and o rings on the other side then the linch pinsHome of RLD Hidden winch mounts Spare wheel Locks Trailer Body Fabrication ray@rld-tech.co.uk D3/4 sump plates MY 14 sump plates and the Discovery Sport wheel protectors Discovery 5 wheel locks

"After your hands are coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch and you'll have to pee!"
just got a protector from Ray and he tells me that wheels shake slightly loose ... and the scrotes then twist the wheel round and round until the cable snaps. He said check it every few weeks and re-tension if required.
however, with this in mind and never being a fan of metal-on-metal unless necessary, I cut 3 bits of plastic as per picture.
white ring is ~ 8mm thick and is obviously NOT related to our kitchen having one less chopping board than it used to.
the red ones are really slippery and possible the reason the Heroes chocolates are now in a bowl and not their original tub.
fitted them into place in the order of this photo, using a bit of contact adhesive on the red ones to keep them in place on the RLD metal work.
seems to work ... the white bit spins with a bit of slack in the cable so should save it from being twisted to breaking point.
I also added a bit of foam u-shaped packing - no idea where I got it from originally - around edge of the RLD plate to stop it scraping the inside of the wheel. gap is positioned towards front of vehicle to allow any water to escape.
there will be a "Mark 2" of this at some point ... I want to be able to drag the wheel out from underneath without scraping rubber on tarmac, so a handle at back of car and a plate it will slide on towards the front but need to figure out how I attach without inviting scum to have a pull or a twist.

Are the plastic pins available separately for those of us with metal pins on an MY16 AdBlue D4?
