Traxide triple battery kit, V8 - Vacuum pump relocation

Hi all,

Long time reader, with not many posts, but love the site and visit often.

I recently moved to the USA (from Australia) and purchased my third Land Rover, a lovely LR3 with all the trimmings.

Im currently in the process of setting it up for some off road trips (as i have with my discos in the past).

When I was back home in Australia, i purchased a Traxide triple battery kit. When i went to install it, the spot where the third battery goes has the brake vacuum pump there. After some investigation, it seems all the petrol models (V6+V8) have the brake pump there, whereas the diesel models do not.

my question is, has anyone had any experience in relocating the brake vacuum pump? It looks doable to me with some sort of bracket. This would allow me to run 2x aux batteries (and not have wasted my money on the kit).

thanks for your time!

cheers

Yes its easy to move. Just get a bracket made for where you want to put it.

The third battery will be connected to the 2nd battery. They will be auxiliary batteries to run accessories, like my fridge, lights, inverter etc.

Are you sure that you are talking about the ABS pump?
I have the Diesel one and in the second battery tray just lay the ABS pump

Yeah, I know the car pretty well, for sure the brake vacuum pump,

i figured it out, i managed to fabricate some new mounts, i will do a full post for others interested.

in the Petrol models, the Vacuum pump is in front of the battery box on the passenger side (for right hand drive). it was the same on my Aussie and USA models.

Ok, now i see, on the diesel in europe we have the third battery space occupied by the auxiliary fuel burning heater Neutral

I have a D3 V8 and this is in the way.
a) Where did you relocate it to?
b) What bracket did you get to hold the battery in place?
