Rear driver side disk brake epb burning smell extremely hot

Hi, what could be approx cost for all job plus parts please.

Got LR4 61 plate 8 speed.

Whilst on the way back home driving within speed limits noticed vibrations from far rear that got stronger and stronger until had no other choice than to pull on hard shoulder for quick inspection. Noticed straight away strong burning smell from rear driver side brake area. Disk appeared extremely hot and smoke went bursting after poured some water over disk and calliper/pads. All other wheels were normal. Had a quick glance here and suspect there may be problem with sticking/ seized calliper/ pads or epb.

I would appreciate if you could share your ideas as to what the problem could be and approx costs involved from personal experiences?

Problem is that I got the car off trader 70mi away and still got warranty, though would be good to get some insight from someone who had similar issue before I decide how to tackle this job. Would rather prefer local fix if not too costly and avoid all excess travelling etc. Trader has got workshop and MOT, however not too confident that they specialise in LR or 4x4, though not sure if that matters that much?

Thanks

Was it same rear drivers side. Is it only required to change affected part or as a precaution for all wheels.

Just the one caliper, but would change the pads due to heat... You may have also damaged the wear sensor, but should be ok as long as you're careful when you remove it.

I would go with calliper drag , you may have warped the disk throwing water on to the hot rear disc as the smoke you make note of would be steam
you will know when you have changed the calliper as it will judder under breaking , for what it costs a I would do the disc"s while I'm there , even thinking on both sides .
should be able to do both for under £100 if you are using non genuine parts and do it yourself mate , not difficult .

How did you get under £100

Did a few phone calls earlier, lowest got around £300 (1x caliper, 2x disc and pads) including labour.

Thought same with dealer prices at around £650.

Id be interested if share how to fix this under £100 or there about 200ish.

Funnily enough same symptoms on my D3, just cleaned and lubed the relevant bits up again but it feels as if the piston is sticking a little.

I hate changing calipers due to the fact I hate bleeding brakes... Confused
 De-Tango
V8 Brakes
EGRs blanked
Running boards
3 flash indicators and clock on dash
Blingy grille...

I wouldn't change the calliper mate .Just strip it and clean relube with SILICONE grease and see how you go
I've done few and not had to resort to a calliper change to date just slider pins
Sorry if I misled you. Didn't factor in a calliper at all bud Thumbs Up

Update: all fixed now @ £290 (parts + labour). Guys did a good job at a very read price. All Pagid parts.

Apparently there was damaged EPB shoe like chip/crack or pieces missing so that it was jammed and not releasing properly and was too late spotted. Changed new set of Epb shoes, pads, discs.
