Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Fault, help Please.
Morning all,
So while doing some work with me on my 2010 D4 XS Robbie identified that the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor (i believe to the left of the steering column) was damaged, in that when he plugged his diagnostics in it told him the car was 34 degrees, in other words, the maximum temperature the car could be, and thus, whenever you put 'auto' temperature on, it tried to cool the car.
This could do with being fixed anyway, however, i believe it is the culprit for another issue, which is when my timed climate kicks in in the morning it blows out cold air, which is enough to defrost but not enough to warm the car. Strange as it does sound like the FBH is running, why would it do this if no heat is required.
Spikekellyrm pointed out that the sensor being damaged is a common fault and could be a 'kink' in the pipe or something like that. Anyway, looking to find out how easy it is to repair, and if it could be causing the issue with timed climate and if so if there is a easy way round it without repair.
