whatever you get has the POtENTIAL for trouble but buy from a lr dealer and enjoy a superior d4..and get warranty for peace of mind

Personally I would go for the newest, at or below average mileage, I could afford , from a main dealer for warranty, they have got better year on year. Usually less problems than a D3 but there are always horror stories, especially on a forum, who writes "my car didn't breakdown today" Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I would wait another year maybe 18 months for three reasons
1, to see what the outcome of all this diesels are dirty squit will be
2, see how the D5 effects D4 prices
3, as theres been a few recent threads on the 3.0 engine cranks going which may turn into an epidemic!

Hi there only really use it a couple of times a week as got a van for work try not to use it on really short journeys as wife got a little car but when we go shopping we take the disco. Its great for island roads as they are not great (only one dual carriage way which is about half a mile long lol) When you get here give me a message and we can meet up there is not many members on the island would be good to compare. You are coming at the best time of year, good luck. Gary
