Wire identification

Hi Guys,

I'm after a favour to identify a wire on 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6.

Following a suspension fault, which I tracked down to a damaged wire by the multi plugs behind the nsf wheel (build up of mud and stone had caused the insulation to be chafed through and the wire corroded out) there is another previous owner repair that I need to sort out.

The white wire in the centre plug has been repaired with a blue crimp connector which needs to be repaired before it fails again in the future. Access is very tight because of where the join is, so before I cut and find I can't repair, what is this wire for (so I can go direct if needed/accessible)?

Obviously this was a particularly carp piece of design by LR which is why they moved the connectors and rerouted the loom on later cars. I'll be putting an extra rubber flap hanging off the plastic liner to prevent the build up mud/stones on the outrigger and the same happening again.

TIA,

Toby

I havent a clue but can recommend superseal plugs as being pretty waterproof and easy to fit, the heat shrink crimp connectors are also real good.

Agree that it needs to be repaired, but I'd like to know where it goes incase I need to surface lay a new wire in. The break is very close to where the wire exits the loom and I might not be able to get back to uncorroded wire and make an effective repair.

Cheers
